Holy crap Scott I'm in the same predicament as you.

Personally, I feel amazing when I fast throughout the day. But because of distance running and working out I can't do it as much as I'd like.

I have two solutions:

1. Save your fasting days for rest days or for when you plan to run/workout in the afternoon. For example you could break your fast around 1 PM and workout later. This would give you many of the benefits of fasting.

2. You could cut your meals around 5 PM and not eat until breakfast. Hugh Jackman and a few other celebs actually fast like this. I tried this method for a month and had a bit of success with it. Ultimately, however, I like fasting throughout the day and waiting until the afternoon to break my fast. It feels like I'm working towards a reward at the end of the day.

*A quick third point, currently I do the first method of fasting a few days a week while throwing in a 24-hour fast every now and then.

Entire day fasts sound intense but are a natural extension of intermittent fasting and have incredible benefits.

Off the top of my head I know they boost Growth Hormone, increase Stem Cell production, and activate a process called autophagy which recycles dead cells in the body. Look into it for sure.

Hope that helps!
