I follow this Jungian/symbolism guy on YouTube called Jonathan Pageau. He talks about this concept of "inversion" quite often and how at the moment it is ubiquitous in culture and politics. Whatever was seen as traditionally "normally" for years is flipped. It falls in line with a lot of post modern thinking.
