Schoolgirls For Sale in Japan (Tokyo’s Dark Truth)
Pedophilia is a big problem in Japan
“The age of consent” was trending this time last year in Japan. That’s right. The age of consent. This discovery sent me down a rabbit hole to find out that Japan’s age of consent was only 13-years-old, one of the youngest in the entire world (including second-world countries).
Weird things have trended on Google before. “Narcissist” and “DIY Abortion” have trended in California and Texas. “Cheating Wife” has trended throughout the entire U.S.
But “age of consent” shocked me unlike any other. It was stomach-churning. You’d have to have a severe cultural problem for that to be trending.
Turns out Japan did have a problem. The fetishization of young girls — and it’s much worse than I thought.
Japan’s sexualization of young girls
“Japan’s most valuable cultural asset is its high school girls and if they’re taken off the market it’ll be an incalculable loss to society.”
I read that in an online thread. The author was joking. But there’s a grain of truth to it regardless.
